Cannot connect although phone is shown in Nokia Connection Manager

This article is about cell phones with a bluetooth connector which require the Nokia Connection Manager. We created a list of connection types for our software Winfonie mobile.

Nokia Connection Manager, connection error

Error description

It could happen that phones are not detected properly by Connection Manager in Nokia PC Suite 4 or 5. In this case only the phone's name but no icon is shown (see picture) and Winfonie mobile cannot connect to the phone.

Solution

This could be caused by an incomplete Nokia PC Suite update. Please follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall Nokia PC Suite
  2. Run the Nokia Register Cleaner
  3. Delete the folder c:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Adapters
  4. Reinstall appropriate Nokia PC Suite
